If you were among the 82 million households who tuned in to watch Netflix’s Regency-era romance, Bridgerton, you would have swiftly fallen in love with the Shondaland production’s opulent scenery, orchestral renditions of Taylor Swift hits and of course, the dashing Duke of Hastings (played by Regé-Jean Page). But what many of us couldn’t have predicted was how much influence the series would hold over our wardrobes too, seeing a spike of ‘Regencycore’ that took inspiration from the series’ stunning costume design — think corsetry, puffed-up sleeves, pearls and even full-length opera gloves. We’re happy to report that the trend is officially back again, thanks to the release of the popular series’ second season.
