From the beginning, fashion has always loved a motif. Whether it’s florals, lips or the iconic monograms from the world’s most legendary Fashion House’s, patterns and subtle detailings are often a signature of the most memorable designs. This season a new motif is taking centre stage, appearing almost everywhere you look — bows.
From big and small to blink-and-you’ll-miss-it, the Fall 2023 runways were brimming with bows of all kinds. We saw them plastered on the faces of models at Simone Rocha, paired with colourful sequins at Rodarte, and dressed in hair at Sandy Liang, courtesy of hairstylist Evanie Frausto.
Red carpets have also already gotten a healthy dose of the bow, from Anne Hathaway's sheer gown held together by bows at the Berlin Film Festival and Anya Taylor-Joy in Schiaparelli at the BAFTAs.
They’ve also already made their way into wearable pieces, including Oroton’s new season Satin Bow Dress and a range of Valentino pumps (of course, already worn by Lily Collin’s stylish character, Emily Cooper). It’s further proof this subtle detail is about to take over.
No matter how you choose to wear it — bold and big or delicate and low-key — we’ve rounded up some of the pieces that have caught our eye.
