You might first have been introduced to Saskia Wotton during her stint on Netflix’s Byron Baes, but beyond her appearance on the reality series the Byron Bay local has proven herself as one to watch on Australia’s fashion scene. With her signature mixing of “old with the new”, as she so perfectly describes her individual style, Wotton’s love of colour, pattern and unlikely textures continue to inspire. Now, the creator has her sights set on dominating the fashion world, teasing the release of an upcoming secret project that has her followers seriously excited — MUMA.
Not giving too much away, Wotton says of the venture:
"The project itself has taken longer than anticipated as I've delved into my reason why, and ensured that I am creating a business that has a story and strong meaning behind it through all angles," she adds.
While she’s tight lipped about what we can expect, she adds it’s been a rewarding experience “seeing everything come together, trusting the process of how every step has led to another.”
Here, Wotton has taken time out of her hectic schedule to share a few items on her current fashion, beauty and homeware wishlist, as well as the picks she’ll always turn back to.
“When I was growing up, I lived in New York and was surrounded by fashion through my mother and also my grandmother. We spent hours visiting designer stores and boutiques looking at all the prints and colours, and this is where I learnt my attention to detail and created my want to push the boundaries with how I dress.”
“This season, I’m most excited about this STAND STUDIO coat I just purchased, it’s very loud and fun. The brand is my favourite for coats, because they always have such bright colours, I love doing the opposite and not always wearing darker tones when it is a change of season.”
“My ultimate off-duty look is a pair of fun sneakers with a ribbed singlet or t-shirt, paired with bright pants of some sort. In winter add a bright puffer to it!”
“My favourite ways for dressing for the heat, would be either wearing a mini dress or skirt with an oversize shirt. Oversized shirts are my go-to for Summer, can be worn as a dress over swimmers, or with skirts or pants!”
“The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue. I don’t tend to wear makeup during the week unless for an occasion, this is all I wear day-to-day. It has SPF in it as well!”
“Three makeup staples I can’t live without include… bronzer, blush, lip gloss! Bronzer to give myself a fresh natural bronzed look, blush because it completely brightens my face. Lip gloss because it adds to that glowing fresh look!”
